New associate for Carey Olsen's litigation team in Singapore.

Press release from Carey Olsen on Wednesday 19 August, 2020.

Leading offshore law firm Carey Olsen has appointed Yan Chng as an associate in the firm's litigation, insolvency and restructuring practice in Singapore.

She is the seventh addition to the practice since its launch at the end of last year with the lateral partner hire of James Noble. With a lawyer headcount of eight it is already the largest offshore litigation team in Singapore, and currently double the size of its nearest competitor.

Yan has experience advising and acting for listed corporations, individuals, directors, shareholders and liquidators in complex commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings, involving breach of fiduciary duties, misappropriation, conspiracy, trust disputes, minority oppression and unfair preference claims.

Prior to joining Carey Olsen, she was a senior associate at a leading Singapore law firm where she represented clients on a wide array of commercial disputes, with emphasis on insolvency litigation, shareholders’ disputes and general commercial disputes.

Commenting on Yan's appointment, James said: "Yan is another fantastic appointment for our fast-growing Singapore litigation team. She brings with her a tremendous reputation and a demonstrable track record acting on high-value and complex commercial disputes."

Yan was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2016.
