CITIZENSHIP AND RESIDENCY: Uzbekistan plans to sell citizenship to foreigners for $1 million.

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of developed amendments to the law on citizenship of Uzbekistan, and published them for public discussion.

According to the bill, it is proposed to introduce a simplified procedure for granting citizenship to Uzbekistan for foreign citizens or stateless people who have invested at least $1 million in investment projects in the country. Investors, well-known scientists, athletes, cultural and art figures from other countries will be able to apply.

The Central Securities Depository or the Public Services Agency will issue a certificate of investment. This document will be attached to the citizenship application.

The discussion of the document will last until November 23.
